Meet the Makers: Josh Chapman
It’s always good to know who you’re buying from. You want to know that the product you’re buying is made right. At Foamnasium, we understand that. We aren’t some faceless foam conglomerate. Foamnasium is a collection of people who really love what they do and love doing it well.
That’s why we’re taking time to present a new series of blogs. We call it “Meet the Makers”. In this series we’ll take you on a journey to show you, from start to finish, how your Foamnasium pieces are made. Since all good things start with an idea, we’re going to kick this thing off by introducing you to Josh, the guy behind the design.
What is your name?
Where are you from?
Fishers, IN. Born and raised!
How long have you been with Foamnasium?
Pretty much since it started. I’ve been with our parent company, Foamcraft, even longer.
What is your role here at Foamnasium?
I do a little bit of everything from setting up the parts in our system, developing them, prototyping them, and then changing what needs to be changed based off sales. During the Christmas season, I’ll even be out there stuffing them when we’re shorthanded!
What is your favorite part about your job?
Being able to do different things on different days. I’m not stuck in one role with this product line -- or really anything I do -- which means it doesn’t get monotonous.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Free time with a wife and 2-year-old doesn’t really exist. But that’s ok, I enjoy spending time with my family.
If you were stuck on a deserted island and you had a single Foamnasium set, what would it be and why?
Well, I would have to say it would be one of our new products coming out. It could be used to help shade the sun if I were getting burnt, I could use it to lay down like a mattress, or lounge around on the beach. That product doesn’t have a name yet though, so we’ll just have to keep you in suspense.
This is just one example of the many people who pour their hearts into Foamnasium every single day. Thanks Josh! Stay tuned for even more stories from these amazing people!
